Table Mountain Guided Hikes

table mountain photography

Half Day guided hike up Table Mountain. Our experienced guides will show you the way safely up the mountain, answering questions about the fauna flora and history as you go. The price of the hike includes guide fees, light snacks and a bottle of water each, but excludes the price of the cable car ticket to come back down (this you can purchase at the cable car station).

We have a selection of routes for you to choose from, which all take between 3.5 and 4.5 hours on average to reach the upper cable car station. Here you can purchase your ticket for the cable car, and also get some food and drinks, and you are free to explore the upper area of the mountain as long as you like.

Route Options:

Platteklip Gorge

The quickest, easiest and most direct route to the summit, but still a very rewarding hike, with incredible views of the city and surrounds all the way up to the top. Approx 3.5 hours to the upper cable car station.

India Venster

The best, but also the toughest half day route up Table Mountain. Not at all suitable to those with a fear of heights. The route traverses a imposing part of the mountain, and involves a lot of rock scrambles. Approx 3.5 hours to the upper cable car station.

Skeleton Gorge

The true classic Table Mountain route, starting for the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the route traverses a number of ladder as you make your way up the mountain. Approx 3.5 hours to the summit, plus another 45 minutes walk to the upper cable car station.

Kasteelspoort

This is a strenous route with a few minor rock scrambles involved as you make your way through the 12 apostles, but the views of the Atlantic seaboard make it all the worth while. Approx 4.5 hours (not suitable for persons with severe height anxiety)
